Adoption of the Code of Conduct: All MOG Nation Guilds shall operate under the Code of Conduct detailed in this Charter. Guild-specific parameters may be added to an individual guild’s Code of Conduct on an as-needed basis upon approval of the MOG Nation Council. For example, PvP Rule-set, Server choices, DKP dispersal, etc.
Formation of Official MOG Nation Chapters
Any member wishing to create an official MOG Nation Chapter for a game must submit the following information to the MOGNation LLC. The member submitting the chapter application must be the prospective guild leader. All parameters must be completed in order for the application to be considered.
In addition to the above, the following parameters apply:
· All MOG Nation guilds will follow the guidelines set forth in the MOG Nation Code of Conduct and Charter.
· If approved, the guild will use the official MOG Nation VOIP for game communications.
· All new MOG Nation Chapters will carry the name "MOG Nation” and use the name in the creation of the guild in-game.
Note: MOG Nation guilds approved prior to January 1, 2014 exist under a grandfather clause wherein they have the right retain their selected guild names and/or separate website as desired by the guild leader. MOGNation LLC will not require these guilds to change the name of their guild, nor their website unless the guild leader requests an official change.
Once the application for the creation of a guild chapter has been submitted, the application will be reviewed and considered by the MOGNation LLC. The review period will typically be one week, however, this period may be extended as necessary to properly consider all parameters.
Approval of Guild Chapter Application:
If the guild chapter application is approved, the guild chapter will enter an "Evaluation Period”. The applicant will work with MOG Nation Leadership in the creation of an affiliated webpage for the guild chapter. The Evaluation Period will last for 6-months and the length of this period may be extended or shortened at the discretion of the leadership. During this period, the guild chapter will be monitored by leadership and evaluated for effectiveness in the following:
· Leadership strength
· Recruitment practices
· Guild events
· Communication (forums and other chosen media)
· Stability of the chosen game
· Probability of the chapter’s survival
Official Chapter Status:
If a guild in "evaluation status” completes the requirements of the evaluation period, the chapter will become an official chapter of MOG Nation.
Game Room Games
The situation may arise where there is not enough interest in a game to justify official chapter consideration. These games may warrant induction into "Game Room” status. The Game Room is a group of MOG Nation supported games that lack significant interest or don’t require a chapter, such as quick-join games, first-person shooters, web-browser games or social games. Game Room games are supported by forums and a channel in our voice server and may or may not be assigned a leader. No formal guild structure is required for Game Room games. If interest increases in these games, they can always be upgraded to official guild chapter status by following the parameters set forth in this charter.
MOG Nation houses a console division to provide a conduit for our members to connect on their chosen platform. The console division will have an assigned Guild Leader, but does not have the same requirements set forth in the guild requirements section. The console division guild leader holds a position on the MOG Nation Council. The console division is not required to have a leadership structure beyond the guild leader. Extension of this structure is at the discretion of the guild leader and any extension of the leadership team shall be reported to the MOGNation LLC so proper changes can be made to leadership lists and hierarchy on the website.
Guild Merger Program:
Established outside guilds wishing to join MOG Nation are subject to the following process prior to the integration of the guild within our community.
Step 1: Application Process
The guild wishing to join MOG Nation will complete the following information and send the completed document to a member of the Council, Community Support Staff or the MOGNation LLC.
Guild Merger Application:
1. Name of game in question
2. Current Guild Name
3. Guild Leader’s Name and Contact Information (Real Life name, Phone Number, Email)
4. A copy of guild’s current Code of Conduct or similar document
5. Guild’s focus (PvE, PvP, Raiding, Exploration, etc)
6. Server Name
7. Number of Members
8. Explanation of Current Leadership Structure
9. Reasons for requesting to join MOG Nation
Upon receipt of the application, the MOGNation LLC, Community Support Staff and the Council vote on whether or not to continue the guild merger.
Step 2: Evaluation Process
Upon approval to continue the guild merger process, a MOG Nation representative will be appointed to act as a liaison and advisor during the evaluation period. The evaluation will require the MOG Nation representative to have access to the requesting guild’s voice server, forums, in-game structure and communication with the guild’s current officers. The representative will serve only to advise MOG Nation leadership on the guild’s health and assuring they are a good fit for MOG Nation. This period will be no less than two weeks but not longer than one month (unless otherwise determined by the MOGNation LLC) from when the application was accepted. The MOG Nation representative will then report his or her findings to the MOG Nation leadership, who will then decide whether or not to continue with the merger.
Step 3: Phasing-In Period
During this period, the merging guild would begin integration with MOG Nation. Integration would include the following:
1. Joining MOG Nation: Members of the merging guild are required to join MOG Nation via the website. A copy of the merging guild’s roster would be provided to MOG Community Support staff. The merging guild’s leader would facilitate his or her members in completing this process.
2. Website Integration: The merging guild’s leader (or appointed member) would work with MOG Nation Community Staff in designing the merging guild’s new webpage and forums on the MOG Nation website.
3. Name Change: The merging guild will begin using the "MOG Nation” name in all official guild dealings, including within the game interface.
4. Officer Training: The merging guild’s officers would be required to complete a training session as outlined in the Guild Officer Orientation Program.
5. Voice Communication Merger: The merging guild would then begin using the MOG Nation voice communication server for guild communications. Channel creation for the merging guild will be facilitated by MOG Nation Community Staff.
Step 4: Official Guild Sanctioning
Once all members of the merging guild’s active roster have joined MOG Nation and all parameters above are completed, the guild will officially gain status as a MOG Nation Chapter.
Merging an outside guild with an existing MOG Nation Official Chapter
In the event a guild approaches MOG Nation inquiring to join an existing MOG Nation Official Chapter, the merger process detailed above in its entirety will take place under the direction of the MOG Nation Chapter’s guild leader for the game in question. The guild leader will act as the official representative for the merger and advise the MOGNation LLC and the Council in the evaluation, phase-in, integration and completion of the merger process. The decision to merge an outside guild with the existing MOG Nation guild will rest with the MOG Nation guild leader.
Merging an outside community with MOG Nation
In the event another community requests to be merged with the MOG Nation, the leader of the requesting community must approach and meet with MOGNation LLC to discuss the merger. A process similar to the merging process for outside guild integration will be initiated by the MOGNation LLC or an appointed staff member or officer. If the organization requesting the merger is found to be a good fit MOG Nation, details of the proposed merger will be presented to the LLC and a vote will be held as to whether or not to continue with a similar process of integration as detailed in the above guild merger process. Existing guilds within the merging community may be integrated into existing MOG Nation Chapters for the same game by following the Guild Merger Program guidelines. If the merging community has existing chapters for games that are not currently supported by MOG Nation, these guilds can request to become an official MOG Nation Chapter by following the guidelines detailed in the Formation of Official MOG Nation Chapters section of this Charter (once the merging community is fully integrated with MOG Nation).
We fully understand that this Charter will not provide direction for all possible events. In the case where a decision must be made that is not directly covered by this document, the MOGNation LLC may codify their decisions in an Errata section. In such cases where that encompass the involvement of the MOG Nation Community, the Council MOGNation LLC will confer. Neither the Council nor the MOGNation LLC will make additions to the Errata section except in cases where omission would cause confusion or be otherwise detrimental to the good of MOG Nation as a whole. The Errata will be posted as a "living document” that, while separate from the Charter, is binding on all members as an extension of the Charter.
No document we can create will be able to cover every contingency. This Errata section is designed to cover any gaps in the MOG Nation Charter. When the MOGNation LLC or Council make interpretations from the Charter that will set precedent for future circumstances, those decisions and interpretations will be placed in this section. The Errata is a "living document”; that is, it may be added to over time. However, those ratifying the document should take great care to add only those interpretations that are meant to be binding. Nothing should be added to this section without forethought regarding the long-term ramifications to MOG Nation and its members.
Errata: None to date
